The actor, Kelly passed away in his native Dublin after a short, undisclosed illness. Kelly was a veteran of theater, radio, TV and film for 50 years and played everything from Beckett to Shakespeare, since 1959.
He stared acting at the age of 8 in Gaiety theatre Dublin and he was beloved by British audiences for his role as O'Reilly the Builder opposite John Cleese in hit show Faulty Towers.

David Kelly is survived by his wife, the actress Laurie Morton, and their two children.
