Kate Middleton’s stripper cousin is about to stir up even more unwanted press for Britain’s Royal Family.
On Wednesday, a representative for Playboy magazine confirmed that burlesque dancer Katrina Darling — a second cousin of the Duchess of Cambridge — will appear on the cover of the September 2012 edition of the iconic men’s mag. The issue, which will arrive on newsstands Aug. 17, will also feature an eight-page pictorial of the royal relative. Darling quit her job in banking earlier this year to become a full-time burlesque dancer. She is known across the pond for her her trademark Sex Pistols/royal-inspired act nude routine to the tune of the British national anthem, “God Save the Queen.”
Darling found out just before the royal wedding that she and Catherine were related, but neither party has made an effort to connect. The 21-year-old thinks it would be “awkward to meet Kate. I’m not sure
what I would say in that sort of situation. But I’m sure we would find something to laugh about in it all. It would be nice to meet her, but I’m not actually going to pursue it.” Katrina Darling Burlesque Act - God Save The Queen
