28 story escalator Colombia- A 28-story outdoor escalator has opened in this large South American city Medellin, Colombia. The $6.7 million project is expected to cut the time it takes local residents to hoof it up a huge hill from 35 minutes to six minutes. Central-mid-levels escalators, Nathan ames escalator. The tiny shanty town is situated west of Bogota and north of Cali, Columbia. About 12,000 people call it home. Daily, they tackle the grueling quarter-mile hike up the steep hill to get around the aging town.




Thanks to $6.7 million in taxpayer revenue, a pair of escalators 28-stories high is complete. Residents of Comuna 13 can now safely travel up and down the hill almost six times as fast,
