Sarah Michelle Gellar returning to TV
After playing beloved vampire slayer, "Buffy," on the former WB network for over six years, Sarah Michelle Gellar will return to the network -- now The CW -- in the fall for her new drama, "Ringer," and the 34-year-old actress said she's thrilled to revisit her old stake-driving, butt-kicking stomping grounds."It's really the right channel," Sarah told Access Hollywood at The CW Network's Upfront 2011 presentation in New York City on Thursday. "One of the things I loved so much about being on 'Buffy' on the WB was you had this really familiar experience. It wasn't corporate -- you could talk to all of the bosses. It was very open. The cast was always so friendly.
"Having been here for about 35 seconds, everybody is so nice!" she added of her new coworkers across the network.
For Sarah's new project, the star will serve double duty, playing a pair of twin sisters who have been separated.
"I play both characters...They have an estranged history," she told Access of her exciting new "Ringer" role. "Throughout the first season you'll find out why they're estranged, and how they'll eventually come back together."
Following her 2003 exit from "Buffy," Sarah starred in multiple films, including horror hits "The Grudge" and "The Grudge 2," and gave birth to her daughter, Charlotte Grace Prinze, with husband Freddie Prinze, Jr.
It is the latter, however, that the proud mommy credits as the key to keeping her physique camera ready.
