Divorce is hard on every family, but model Patrick Schwarzenegger is certain he’ll survive the end of his parents’ 25-year marriage.
The son of former Calif. gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, the 17-year-old entrepreneur tweeted of his mom and dad’s separation, “Appreciate all your messages. Small speed bump I’n life, luckily we own hummers, we will cruise right over it. All will be okay. #peace.”
The high school student’s tweet comes soon after the announcement of his parents’ split, which the Los Angeles Times reported earlier this week.
“At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship,” the couple said in a statement. “We ask for compassion and respect from the media and the public.”
In a recent interview with Details magazine, young Schwarzenegger said of Shriver, who is part of the Kennedy clan, “My mom always talks about how hard it was to grow up in a political family. It’s always split up, and just — I want to have fun in life. No, politics isn’t on the list.”
Schwarzenegger may be fine now, but if he eventually finds his filial situation too painful to endure, he can always turn to pop artist Miley Cyrus. During the same chat with Details, Schwarzenegger said, “My eye … is set on Miley.” He could also stay busy at his company, having co-founded philanthropic line, Project360 two years ago.
