The term left-handedness is used for the people who use their left hand to do most of their work. It is commonly seen that people use their right hand for performing most of their activities, but there are few people who use their left hand for writing, playing, painting and such other activities. Earlier it was considered as the result of some evil or sign of misfortune, but some famous left handed people proved this wrong by their deeds.
Following is the list of people who became famous despite being left-handers:
Alexander the Great, Napolean Bonaparte, Julius Caesar, Charlemagne are some of the names of rulers and generals in the great history who are remembered for their leadership qualities. They all were left-handers.
President Barack Obama, the current president of United States, has become the ninth left-handed US president when he became the forty-fourth president of the country. Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Ronald Regan, Harry Truman and Gerald Ford are other left-handed US presidents.
The leaders of different countries who did a great job by guiding their people when they were in great crisis were Mahatma Gandhi, Otto von Bismarck, Lord Baden Powell, Bertie Ahern and Fidel Castro. They were all left handed.
Queen Victoria along with her successors King George VI, Prince Charles and Prince William are also left-handed.

Leonardo Da Vinci, the well-known painter who painted Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, was also a left-hander along with other famous painters like Pablo Picasso and Michelangelo.
Music composers Mozart, Ludwig von Beethoven, and Beatles' Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were also left-handers.
Authors like Lewis Carroll, HG Wells, Leo Tolstoy, Mark Twain, and Goethe were also left-handed.
The most recognized comedian worldwide Charlie Chaplain preferred his left hand over the right. Other renowned artists who favor their left hand are Tom Cruise, Robert De Niro, Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe, Whoopie Goldberg, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Keanu Reeves, and Oprah Winfrey.
Sports stars like Diego Maradona, Pele, Mark Spitz, John McEnroe, Martina Navratilova, Monica Seles, Mark Brunell, Frankie Albert, Paul McDonald, Yogi Berra, Wade Boggs, George Brett, Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, and Bobby Fischer are all left handed.

Big Name Games Going Free. Can’t afford all these fancy games? Then stop paying for them. Strategy hit Age of Empires gets the freebie treatment next week, but loads of other well-known franchises are being turned into free-to-play titles supported by optional in-game purchases. Give your bank account a breather and check out these well-known -- and now free -- games.
AGE OF EMPIRES ONLINE -- With over 20 million copies sold, this long-running strategy series has earned Microsoft respect, cred, and gobs of cash. Perhaps that’s why they’re releasing a new version for the smashing price of zilch. The new free game plays out much like older AoE games – create a city, build an army, deal with your neighbors -- but for a few dollars less.
WORLD OF WARCRAFT -- After six solid years of raking in dough from its millions of subscribers, the biggest name in online gaming finally decided to offer up some free goodies for new players back in June. You can play all the way to level 20 -- a good month or so -- before needing to plunk down any gold for that full membership.

GHOST RECON ONLINE -- Long one of the premier names in squad-based military shooters, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series takes a turn for the free in this upcoming multiplayer effort. Due out later this year on the PC and sometime in 2012 on Nintendo’s Wii U, the online game lets you tinker with cool, futuristic Ghost Recon gear while battling it out in tactically rich, small-scale environments.
TEAM FORTRESS 2 -- First made available as part of EA’s incredible Orange Box retail release (which also contained Half-Life 2, its follow-ups, and standalone phenom Portal), Team Fortress 2 is now free-to-play. That is, in a word, awesome. Packing the same gameplay but adding optional items for those who want a leg up, it’s a great way to get a multiplayer shooter fix without forking over any dough.
EVERQUEST II -- Considering it came out alongside World of Warcraft -- only to get trounced on the charts by Blizzard's behemoth -- it's pretty amazing that this MMO is still going. Last year it added a free-to-play option dubbed Everquest II:Extended, and while you won't get access to everything the game offers, you can take your
character all the way up to level 80 and play through most of the game's expansions without dropping a credit card.
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE -- If at first you don’t succeed, lower the price. Such was the thinking behind this online role-playing game, which had a bit of a rough start. But once it went free-to-play, subscriptions took off and it found a new audience of would-be heroes. If you’re looking to take down some pesky bugbears but aren’t swimming in platinum, give it a roll.
CITY OF HEROES -- Gamers will be able to fly around this supercharged online role-playing game for free later this year. And while they won’t have access to the full experience, they’ll be able to pick and choose exactly which features and areas they’ll be able to enjoy and explore.
BATTLEFIELD PLAY4FREE -- Later this year, EA will go toe to toe with Activision as Battlefield 3 takes aim at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. But if all that noise makes your wallet wince, look into this free version of Battlefield instead. While critics haven’t been very impressed, it’s still in its open beta test – and for the cost of nothing, you can fire off a few rounds and see for yourself.
THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE -- Like D&D Online, the moment this massively-multiplayer game set in Tolkien’s Middle-Earth went from premium to freemium, its waning popularity rebounded. The game’s revenues tripled, too, lending cred to the free-to-play model.
TRIBES: ASCEND -- One of the most beloved multiplayer shooter franchises of all time, the Tribes games still enjoy a sizable following. That following is sure to grow, however, once this free-to-play take arrives later this year. Bearing the same jetpack-happy gameplay but with only optional costs, it’s one to watch.
LEGO UNIVERSE -- The blockiest MMO out there just launched a new free-to-play option, granting players an unlimited amount of time to romp around in two of the game's zones. No microtransactions, either, though if you want to access the rest of the game, you’ll need to pay up.

This fall, the Smithsonian Mobile app will launch to give users a must-see list for many of the museums, including some of the most popular items such as the Hope Diamond or Abraham Lincoln's top hat.

Plastic surgery regrets of the stars.  Plastic surgery used to be one of Hollywood's biggest taboos, but now it is the worst-kept secret in town.Stars like Lisa Rinna, Dana Delany and Kim Kardashian have come forward to talk about their cosmetic procedures and how much they now regret going under the knife.

6000 to 3400 BC: Natives of India and Egypt tinker around with nose shaping — apparently vanity is the oldest vice.
1700s: British physicians visit India and discover the rhinoplasty techniques that would eventually become the modern-day nose job. They bring these procedures back to the Western world.
1940s: Japanese prostitutes, believing that larger breasts will attract American servicemen, experiment with breast augmentation. They inject themselves with non-medical grade silicon, paraffin, and other substances such as sponges.
1951: Sir Harold Gillies, an otolaryngologist from New Zealand, performs the very first male-to-female sex change operation.
1962: Texas native Timmie Jean Lindsey becomes the first woman to receive silicone breast implants. Lindsey had wanted to have her ears pinned back but couldn't afford the surgery. She agreed to undergo the augmentation in exchange for ear surgery. In 2007, she spoke out saying she regretted the procedure.
1993: Jennifer Grey, who catapulted to fame as Baby in Dirty Dancing, undergoes rhinoplasty to reshape her famous hooked nose. She emerges unrecognizable with a small, delicate nose. She later admitted: "I went in the operating room a celebrity — and came out anonymous. It was like being in a witness protection program or being invisible."

1996: Pamela Anderson, already known for both her skimpy Baywatch lifeguard swimsuits and large set of implants, has her first child and announces that she is able to breast-feed — proving to the world that a pocket of silicon doesn't hinder the mother-child bond.
2003: Nip/Tuck premieres on FX. The show, which ran for seven seasons, portrays the sordid lives of two fictitious cosmetic surgeons in Miami. It quickly becomes the highest-rated basic cable series of all time.
2006: Actress Tara Reid becomes a tabloid sensation after confessing that she underwent multiple plastic surgeries including breast augmentation and liposuction procedures that "went wrong," resulting in deformities.
2009: Reality star Heidi Montag has ten plastic surgeries in a single day, including brow-lifts, ear-pinnings, a chin reduction, and a second rhinoplasty and breast augmentation. In December 2010, she expressed regret over the procedures, saying: “Surgery ruined my career and my personal life... I wish I could jump into a time machine and take it all back. Instead, I'm always going to feel like Edward Scissorhands."
2009: Solange Magnano, an Argentine model and former beauty queen, dies at age 38 when injections from a buttocks-firming procedure traveled to her lungs and brain.
2010: In a grueling 24-hour operation involving 30 professionals, Spanish surgeons complete the world’s first full-face transplant on a 31-year-old man who accidentally shot himself while hunting.
2010: No longer just for the rich and famous, more than 13 million cosmetic surgical and nonsurgical procedures are performed nationally — a 155-percent increase from when statistics were first pulled in 1997. The top procedures are breast augmentation, liposuction, eyelid surgery, abdominoplasty, and breast reduction.
