Singers Pink, Gomez in Twitter Feud Over Painted Ponies
Singer Pink landed in hot water Friday after she accused Disney starlet Selena Gomez of committing animal cruelty for using painted horses in a music video.
A glammed-up Gomez hit the beach in Los Angeles Thursday with a bevy of horses painted pink to shoot a video for her single, "Love You Like a Love Song."
But Pink, an outspoken animal activist, took to Twitter Thursday blasting the use of colored horses -- without knowing who was involved in the making of the video.
"If there are any animal activists around Malibu- at Leo Cabrillo State Beach, there are horses being painted for a stupid music video. Shame," the singer wrote.
"Artists should be more aware and responsible for their actions," the 31-year-old continued.
But Pink's criticism unleashed the wrath Friday of fans faithful to the star of Disney's "Wizards of Waverly Place," who is dating teen superstar Justin Bieber.
"Selena Gomez said 'A non toxic, vegetable based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water.' NOW CALM YO...!" one fan wrote on Twitter, with another adding, "it wasn't cruelty. It was safe and non-toxic."

"It was important to the Production Company, Record Label and Ms. Gomez that no animals were harmed and all proper precautions were taken," a rep for the 18-year-old said in a statement.
"A non toxic, vegetable based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water. An official from the Humane Society was on set supervising," the statement added.
Despite the statement from Gomez, Pink held her ground.
