In the film, DiCaprio plays controversial figure J. Edgar Hoover, who was the director of the FBI from 1935 up until his death in 1972.

Clint Eastwood is helming the project, from a script by Oscar-winning writer Dustin Lance Black ('Milk'). 'Social Network' hunk Armie Hammer will play Hoover's alleged lover, Clyde Tolson (and promises lots of kissing), while Naomi Watts will play Helen Gandy, Hoover's loyal secretary.

The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles, and is expected to be released sometime in 2012.
